The famous superstores of Harrods and Harvey Nichols are less than a five-minute walk from Tattersalls Tavern, as well as the chic shops of Sloane Street, yet there’s far much more to this beautiful neighbourhood than swanky shops. We are just a short walk away from Hyde Park, one of central London’s largest open spaces. The prestigious museums of South Kensington, including the Victoria and Albert Museum, are also only a 15-minute walk away.
Opened in 1958, our pub takes its name from the Tattersalls Blood Stock Market, which was once found on this site. This renowned thoroughbred horse market was the world’s first bloodstock auction house, founded by former stud groom to the second Duke of Kingston, Richard Tattersall, in 1766. You will see a plaque on one of our walls commemorating this notable piece of our pub’s heritage.
The interior of Tattersalls Tavern is elegant and bright, with wood panelling and warm lighting balancing more modern design features to create the cosy ambiance you would expect from a traditional pub. Our menu, likewise, stays true to British pub traditions, featuring a range of pub food classics as well as an excellent selection of ales and wines.
Lovely Function Room with a Private Bar and Separate Entrance
Our lower level function room, called The Knights Bar, is a charming space that can accommodate up to 30 seated guests. A separate entrance next to the main pub creates a welcome sense of privacy for you and your guests. This intimate space also features its own bar. The Knights Bar is particularly suited to private lunches or dinners, but it can be adapted for all kinds of events, from birthday parties and weddings to meetings and work gatherings. Whatever the occasion we look forward to welcoming your function to Tattersalls Tavern.
A Casual Pub in One of London’s Most Exclusive Neighbourhoods
With graceful columned building façades and well-heeled residents, Knightsbridge exudes a sophisticated and refined atmosphere. Harrods is one of the neighbourhood’s top tourist attractions, featuring more than 300 departments spread over seven stories, and more than a million square feet of retail space. A few hundred yards away from Harrods is the equally famous Harvey Nichols, which offers three floors of designer clothing as well as a large beauty department. More high-class shops are found around the corner on Sloane Street, including Dior, Prada, Armani and Tod’s.
Hyde Park, which borders the north boundary of Knightsbridge, is a perfect spot to take a break from shopping. Watch geese swim serenely across Serpentine Lake, rent a paddle boat or stroll through the park’s leafy grounds. Knightsbridge is also a convenient starting point for exploring London’s Museum Quarter, which can be reached on foot or by taking the tube one stop west. Find us in the heart of this glamorous district, less than a three-minute stroll from Knightsbridge tube station.
