The Gloucester’s origins can be traced back as far as 1795, although the current building dates from around 1920. Our pub takes its name from the Gloucester Regiment, a line infantry regiment of the British Army that served in both World War I and World War II. You will notice that our entrance sign pays homage to the Coat of Arms of Gloucester.
Our pub’s casual interior contrasts pleasingly with the glitz of the surrounding neighbourhood, offering a quiet place to retreat after a day of shopping. Renovations in 2015 served to modernise and update our pub, while still maintaining its Victorian-style décor and dark wood furnishings. Regimental pictures decorating the walls pay an additional nod to our pub’s namesake. Low-key and cosy, The Gloucester is an ideal place to indulge in hearty pub fare, along with fine casks ales, wines and spirit and see if you can spot the occasional celebrity that pops in after a hard days shopping.
